We’re delighted to welcome Mathilde Tongue to Groundline, who has joined the business as a Trainee Bid Developer, supporting our Project and Cable teams.
Mathilde moved from France to the UK at the age of 21, swapping the sunny south for cooler weather a change she was very happy about, admitting she’s “definitely not built for the heat.” She holds a degree in Psychology, a subject that has always interested her, although much of her professional experience to date has been gained through office‑based roles outside of the field.
In her role as a Trainee Bid Developer, Mathilde will be drawing on her experience in customer support, resourcing, and project management to support the administrative and coordination aspects of bids. This includes helping with proposals, pricing, and overall bid organisation, contributing to more efficient and well‑structured ways of working. She is particularly keen to grow into the role and help the business work smarter by staying organised.
What attracted Mathilde to Groundline was the company culture. From the outset, she found it to be genuinely welcoming, supportive, and safe, qualities that she values highly in a workplace.
Outside of work ,Mathilde loves cooking and baking and can happily spend hours experimenting in the kitchen, so colleagues may occasionally be treated to homemade snacks inthe Nottingham office. She’s also a big film lover and visits the cinema at least twice a week, making her the go‑to for movie recommendations. Alongside this, she enjoys travelling and photography, often combining the two.
Fun fact: Mathilde wakes up at 4:30am every day, loving the calm and peaceful feeling before the rest of the world wakes up.
