We’re excited to welcome Fergus Lobb to the Groundline New Zealand team as our newest Intermediate CAD Technician.

With five years of CAD & engineering experience in the mechanical engineering sector, Fergus has a real passion for transforming ideas into practical, high‑quality designs. Much of his work is focused on the transmission industry, contributing to New Zealand’s growing renewable energy sector, an area he’s genuinely motivated by.

Fergus was drawn to Groundline in search of a new challenge, and he’s already enjoyed connecting with new people and meeting the wider GL team.

Fun fact: Fergus is a twin! His sister, Leilani, is a dairy farmer. They both grew up on a dairy farm near Ashburton.

When he’s not talking VW Golfs or Subarus, Fergus is out hiking, tramping, or spending quality time with his partner, and their much‑loved dog and cats.
