We’re thrilled to introduce Maia, a Graduate Engineer who is joining our New Zealand team.
Maia recently graduated from the University of Canterbury and is starting his engineering career working on transmission line infrastructure projects.
He says he was keen to join the Groundline team because it gives him the opportunity to contribute to New Zealand’s renewable energy goals and to work on projects across the country.
Fun fact: one of Maia’s first jobs was in a ski rental shop in Japan!
Outside of work, Maia says he loves being in the great outdoors... snowboarding, surfing, hunting, or any other adventure that gets him into nature.
Welcome aboard, Maia! We’re excited to see the impact you’ll make.

Globally, as we transition toward a cleaner, electrified future, one reality has become clear: we cannot decarbonise without building. New overhead lines, underground cables, substations, and renewable energy infrastructure will shape the energy landscape for decades to come.

Groundline is pleased to announce the award of a seven year framework agreement with UK Power Networks for the provision of overhead line and underground cable design services. The agreement comprises of an initial four-year term, with the option to extend for a further three years.

Sit in on any utility planning meeting and you’ll see the same challenge: project delivery dominates the agenda, while asset management fights for attention.
