Fast and easy to use, Thor Poletest™ is a complete 'System as a Service' that combines use of a specialist field-test kit with permission driven access to the Thor Insights Portal.

'Pole by pole' instruction and summary results provide a condition guide to line workers and contract testers in the field.

Thor Poletest™ uses a proprietary seismic methodology to understand stress waves captured when hitting a timber pole with the hammer.

STEP 1
Charge the Thor unit and connect all the components. Place the geophone on one side of a timber pole.
STEP 2
Hit the timber pole with the Thor hammer on the opposite side of the pole to cause stress waves to travel up and down the pole.
STEP 3
Thor’s geophone measures, analyses and records the stress waves.
STEP 4
Thor gives a visual readout of the pole’s condition, including if the pole is fit to climb or if further testing is needed.
STEP 5
The results are then uploaded to our secure online Pole Portal. The Pole Portal gives the ability to view network-wide results that can be used to inform ongoing asset management.
